Its been a while since our last newsletter, so be sure and read to the bottom of this one for lots of great information like new awards, new menu items, Sarig on TV, upcoming wine dinners, a new online reservation system, and much more.
Fresh and Local
We're getting loads of fresh produce and meats in now from Coon Rock Farm and other local farms so the menu is packed full of tasty, healthy choices right now. Click on the menu tab above and you'll be able to see all the new items. We update the menu every couple of days so be sure and check often to see the latest of Chef Sarig's wonderful creations.
Upcoming Wine Dinners and Special Events
Our wine dinners continue to be one of our most fun and sought after events. If you haven't joined us yet, then you really owe it to yourself to try one.
August Briggs Wine Dinner on May 10th at 7:00. August Briggs is one of the newest Napa Wineries but by far one of the best. This will be a 5 course dinner with 5 wines at a cost of $80 (tax and gratuities not included). Our recent Elyse Wine Dinner was completely sold out, so get your reservation in early for this incredible up and coming Napa winery.
Belgium to NC Beer Dinner on May 24th at 7:00. We’ve had a lot of requests to taste some of the new beers from Europe and micro-brews from the US. Here’s your chance to sample two similar but very different beers per course with Chef Sarig’s perfectly matched food. 5 courses with 2 beers per course for $60 (tax and gratuities not included).

And speaking of wonderful creations, one of our favorites has always been Chef Sarig's Red Beet Salad. Now its famous as well having been featured on a recent Channel 17 news program. We've had other great press recently as well. Citysearch has just named us as one of the "hottest tables in town" and we were mentioned in a recent NY Times article as one of the hip places in trendy Glenwood South

But our biggest news so far this year is that once again Wine Spectator Magazine has recognized our wine list with an Award of Excellence. We've always known that Nancy had the best wine list in the area, but its great to see a magazine like Wine Spectator recognize her for putting together one of the best lists in the country. Congratulations Nancy!
Zely & Ritz Community Benefit Events
In addition to serving great food and wine, we also try to do all we can to benefit the community. Our African Wine Dinner event in March was not only a very entertaining and tasty event, but over $1000 was raised to support education of children in Zimbabwe. Our next benefit event is a wine tasting of great Spanish wines on May 16th from 5:30 till 8:00 to benefit Triangle Family Services. Tickets to the tasting are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. You can call Diane of Triangle Family Services at 919-839-2286 ext 102 to purchase advance tickets.
Half Price Wine Monday and Martini Thursday
Don't forget that all our wines by the bottle are just half price on Monday nights. This has become one of our most popular nights, so come join us and help us drink some amazing wines at unbelievable prices. For those of you who prefer a cocktail, join us on Thursday when all our martinis are just $5.00.
The Communal Table Now Seats 30 People
The big communal table has been one of our hottest tables since opening. As far as we know its the largest table in town and can now seat up to 30 people at the same time. Its the perfect spot for your big party or large event. With Mother's Day and Graduation coming up, call us soon and reserve all or just a portion of the communal table for your large group. And remember, the communal table at Zely & Ritz is the perfect late night spot for a glass of wine or cocktail or one of Chef Sarig's heavenly desserts.
New Online Reservation System
We're always trying to make your experience at Zely & Ritz better and easier. Now we've come up with a way to make reservations easier. Just visit the Zely & Ritz web site or click the reservation link to the left of this email and you'll be able to make your reservations 24 hours a day using our new online system. This should make reservations for dinner on most nights much easier and faster (but you'll still need to call 919-828-0018 for special events and wine dinner reservations).
Come dine with us soon and take advantage of the great weather and great food and wine that's coming from the farm, kitchen, and wine cellar. It takes a lot of people to bring you what we do at Zely & Ritz, but we love doing it and hope that you do as well. If you have any requests or suggestions you can always email us or call.
