Summer
Heat Brings Sarig’s Incredible Treats The
official start of
summer is a few days away, but the summer heat has
already
arrived. Every change of season brings us a whole
new set of fresh,
organic ingredients for Chef Sarig to work his magic
with like his new
Gazpacho (made from a whole medley of fresh local,
organic
vegetables) or his goat cheese with local tomatoes
and basil pesto
(it has become an instant best seller). On the meat
and seafood front
there’s an absolutely incredible rare grilled
tuna with a local blueberry
sauce and our signature emu dish this month is grilled
with a local
strawberry sauce. Of course, Nancy has searched the
world over
(literally, we have wines from all over the world)
to find just the right
boutique, artisan and special vintage wines to match
the new menu
items. You can take a look at all the new menu choices
on our web
site at http://www.zelyandritz.com/menu.html.
Try Us for Lunch
Did you know that we are also open for lunch?
We have a completely
different menu at lunch that is full of original
and unbelievably tasty
sandwiches, wraps, and salads. The communal table
that is so much
fun for small and large groups alike at dinner
is the perfect place to
have your office lunch party for that special birthday,
promotion, or
going away celebration. And for smaller groups
who want to take
advantage of the warmer weather, we’ve added
4 outdoor tables that
are available for both lunch and dinner. But what
if you have to work
through lunch? Well that’s no reason to not
have a great meal. Any of
our lunch items are available to-go as well. Just
check out the menu
online at http://www.zelyandritz.com/menu_lunch.html
and give us a
call at 828-0018 to place your order.

New Art Work
You may have noticed that the art work changes
at Zely and Ritz
every few weeks. The art displays are provided
by Raleigh
Contemporary Gallery in City Market. The current
exhibit is by a
stunning up and coming artist named Phillip Levin
who actually spent
some time at Zely & Ritz to get the inspiration
for these pieces. I
think you’ll agree that they are quite stunning.
Come in to see them
on the wall or if you’d like see them ahead
of time you can find them
on the Raleigh Contemporary Gallery site.
If you really like one of the pieces then let
us know and it can be
yours for a very reasonable price.
Coon Rock Farm News
Many of you have asked how much of the produce
and meat at
the restaurantcomes from our own Coon Rock Farm.
The answer is
more and more every day. Coon Rock Farm has been
a continuously
operating family farm for over 150 years. It sits
along side the Eno
River just a couple of miles outside of Hillsborough
in Orange County.
The name comes from a huge rock formation that
juts out into the river
and according to legend was a crossing point on
a major Indian trading
path before European settlers arrived and in more
recent times has
been a favorite recreation spot along the river.
The farm suffered a
lot of damage in the last 20 years from hurricanes
and neglect and
it’s undergoing a major restoration right
now so we’re slowing building
up our supply of meats and vegetables for Zely & Ritz.
We have
almost an acre of different vegetables and herbs
planted so far this
season including over 20 different varieties of
heirloom tomatoes,
peppers, and eggplant that will be available soon.
And by the end of
the month ourpremium, pasture raised, antibiotic
and hormone free
game chickens will be available as the “Coon
Rock Special”.
Thanks for helping to make Zely & Ritz the
most successful new
restaurant in Glenwood South. We look forward to
seeing you soon.
