It’s
been another incredible month at Zely & Ritz.
We’ve been open
about 3 months now and for a new restaurant the response
has just
been phenomenal. It feels great to have so many of
you joining us for
Sarig’s great food and Nancy’s great
wine selections. Thanks to
everyone who has visited us so far, and if you haven’t
made it in yet
then we look forward to seeing you soon.
We’ve also done very well in the press
and had two great articles in
the News and Observer this month. Our official
restaurant review by
Greg Cox was a couple of weeks ago and Greg started
the review by
saying just how much Sarig amazes him. The full
review can be seen at http://www.triangle.com/dining/restaurantreview/story/2177744p-8558204c.html.
Then this past weekend, Susan Houston wrote a
feature article for the
Lifestyles section that chronicles a full day
in Sarig’s life at the restaurant.
It’s a fascinating story about an amazing
chef with beautiful pictures
of Sarig in action. Please check out the whole
story at http://www.newsobserver.com/lifestyles/story/2236272p-8616224c.html.
As you know, we all love fine wine and one of
our greatest pleasures
is our wine dinners that feature smaller production,
artisan style wines
that Nancy selects and Sarig pairs with the perfect
food choices. We
had the first of our monthly wine tastings last
week and sold out the
communal table for the event. Those of you who
joined us got to taste
some incredible Australian wines.
We are planning our April wine dinner now which
will feature wines from
California and will be on April 6th at 7:00pm.
Our wine speaker for the
evening will be Scott Burgess who manages the
Californian wines
selection for The Country Vintner. He is one
of our favorite people to
taste with because he just knows so much. He
is a really laid back guy
and he always brings fabulous wines so this should
be a fantastic
wine dinner. Dinner will be $75 a person plus
tax and gratuities and
will start at 7:00. Please call 828-0018 for
reservations for this
incredible evening of great wine, great food,
and great friends.
We’re also making progress out on Coon
Rock Farm now that the
weather is improving. The sheep are starting
to lamb (which is a truly
amazing sight to see), the baby chicks are scheduled
to arrive this week,
and we’re getting the soil ready to plant
a host of heirloom tomatoes,
peppers, and other savory vegetables for Sarig
to use this Summer.
It’s been very gratifying to see the vision
we had of an integrated
farm-to-restaurant concept really take off. In
the end, we’re only
successful so long as you, our friends and customers,
are happy
so we love to get your feedback. Take some time
to fill out the comment
card that you will find with each check in the
restaurant or give us a call
or email whenever you get a chance.
Now is also a good time to reserve your Mother’s
Day, graduation,
birthday, or other special event at Zely & Ritz.
In addition to our normal
hours, you can also reserve the whole restaurant
on Sunday or Monday
when we are normally closed. Call 828-0018 and
ask for Nancy or Joey
if you’re interested is scheduling a special
meal or event.
Thanks for helping to make Zely & Ritz the
most talked about new
restaurant in Glenwood South. We look forward
to seeing you soon.
