New Dates Added:
Thursday, July 24th & Tuesday, July 29th

One of the most awaited events of the year at Zely & Ritz is almost here: The Tomato Feast Dinner.  We grow over 40 varieties of heirloom, organically raised, tomatoes at Coon Rock Farm and each year Chef Sarig prepares a special feast featuring these luscious beauties of summer bounty.  We are also extremely fortunate to once again have North Carolina's heirloom tomato expert as our speaker for the evening, Craig Lehoullier. We couldn't do what we do with tomatoes if not for Craig as he is the source of all of our heirloom tomato, pepper, and eggplant transplants at the farm. Craig's full bio and link to his website with incredible pictures is after the menu below.  Tomatoes are simply one of our most perfect summer foods and there is no better way to spend a evening in July than eating them, admiring them, and learning more than you can imagine about them.

For the last two years this dinner has quickly sold out and we have had to add additional dinners at the last minute.  This year we are scheduling 3 of them upfront so everyone can have a chance to attend.  Call 828-0018 for reservations and let us know which night is best for you.  All dinners start at 7:00pm and the dates and menu is below:

 Craig LeHoullier Bio

Craig LeHoullier is a former chemist with GSK and is now in his early retirement has started his own consulting business.  His passion, however (aside from his wife Susan, two daughters and pets, of course!), is growing, evaluating and sharing seeds and plant from a large and growing collection of rare and unusual tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.  Craig converted from a Better Boy tomato grower to heirlooms in 1986, when he discovered and joined the Seed Savers Exchange.  Since then, his collection of tomato varieties approaches 1,800, and each year he grows, tastes and shares over 100 different types.  To see incredible pictures of the kind of tomatoes you will be eating when you join us for this dinner check out Craig's website at http://www.nctomatoman.topcities.com/nctomatomanWebPage.htm.
